HISTORY

The Azienda Agricola Conte Loredan Gasparini was founded in the 50s by Count Piero Loredan, direct descendant of the Doge of Venice Leonardo Loredan in Venegazzù di Volpago del Montello, located in the heart of Marca Trevigiana (in the north of Venice).

From its beginnings the founder planted the company’s tenements vines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbech in order to produce highly esteemed quality wines. The production philosophy (which remained an anchorage of the company) is the respect and the deep appreciation of the link with the territory.

The Azienda Agricola Loredan Gasparini Loredan Gasparini is therefore famous for its red wines as Venegazzù “Rosso della Casa” and “Capo di Stato” (a historical blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot e Malbec, coming from  “one hundred plants vineyard”) which is recognized as one of the wines that have made the Wine's Legend in the world.

The grapes and the company bonded over the production of wine, but their relation does not end with it. Infact, the vinasse of the grapes used for the production of red wines are promptly distilled by the Negroni Old Distillery - own by the family too- in order to produce fine grappa.

After many years of research and trial on distillation, from the vinasse of “Capo di Stato” wine is made a grappa that bear the same name.
Whole of Conte Loredan Gasparini's grappa are produced according to the traditional double saucepan method which guarantees a high quality product.

Capo di Stato 2021 DOC Montello Venegazzù Superiore

€65.00

The CAPO DI STATO was originally created as a “Venegazzù Superiore” by “della Casa”; following its initial launch, it was frequently served at official dinners hosted by the City of Venice, to the extent that by the 1960s it could count amongst its admirers various heads of state, to whom it thus owes its name. Created by Count Loredan, it is made from a selection of grapes, in particular those from an old vineyard dating back to 1946 known as the "Vigna delle 100 piante" situated in Venegazzù (TV), where the Montello terroir (50 km north of Venice) lends it a truly unique character. It is a consistently original wine, deep and warm in colour, with an intense bouquet rich in aromas of wild berries and spices. Full-bodied and substantial, with soft tannins, it is persuasive and endlessly complex on the palate. A blend, therefore, with a strong personality, never reduced to the banal fruit/oak formula, which always expresses itself with remarkable aromatic originality and a distinctively robust flavour, so much so that it has been described as an "icon of the Bordeaux-style blend". As a token of gratitude to Charles de Gaulle, who praised this wine as a Bordeaux, the artist Tono Zancanaro was commissioned to create two special labels to be sent as a gift to the presidential couple: one dedicated to Yvonne, featuring the figure of a man with the inscription "des roses pour madame", whilst the one for her husband depicts a woman with the words "…et pour Monsieur la Bombe".

It is, in fact, a fresh and light wine, yet never mundane, as it fully reflects the character of our terroir; thanks also to partial ageing in large oak casks, its complexity is enhanced. The quest for the highest quality, undertaken by the Loredan Gasparini Winery, is epitomised in this very wine.

Manzoni Bianco 2025 IGT Marca Trevigiana

€13.50

The MANZONI BIANCO is a splendid grape variety created by Prof. Manzoni in the 1930s at the Conegliano School of Oenology. This cross between the delicate aromatic and mineral character of Riesling and the harmony of Pinot Bianco gives rise to an extraordinary grape variety, characterised by a low yield and a tough skin. Thanks to the gentle maceration process, it boasts an intense yellow colour, a pleasant bouquet reminiscent of yellow flowers and fruit, a lingering finish and an excellent balance of acidity and glycerine. It is an infinitely enjoyable wine thanks to its youthful character, yet as assertive as the grape varieties from which it is made.

GRAPE VARIETY: Manzoni Bianco 100%
PRODUCTION AREA: Volpago del Montello (Treviso, Veneto)
AGEING: 6 months in stainless steel tanks
